问答题
The Kingdom of Denmark The smallest and most southern of the Scandinavian countries, Denmark offers an interesting mix of lively cities and rural countryside, Ancient castles, ring forts, jazz festivals, the sleekest modem design you’ll ever see and the people who invented Lego-who could ask for more? Danish Vikings once took to the seas and ravaged half of Europe, but these days they’ve forged a society that stands as a benchmark of civilization, with progressive policies, widespread tolerance and a liberal social-welfare system. Copenhagen has been Denmark’s capital for 600 years and is the largest city in Scandinavia. It’s an appealing and largely low-rise city comprised of block after block of period six-storey buildings. Church steeples punctuate the skyline, with only a couple of modem hotels marring the view. No matter what your interests, Copenhagen has a whole lot of sightseeing and entertained on offer. Historic or modem, sleek shops or cozy cafes-it’s all-nestled fight in the heart of a compact city and presented with typical Scandinavian assurance and flair. Hans Christian Andersen wrote a fairly tale about her; Disney produced the movie; and Copenhagen maintains a statue in her honor, which continues to be the largest tourist attraction in Denmark and the most photographed statue in the world. New York has the Statue of Liberty, Pads has its Eiffel Tower and Copenhagen has this pretty, charming maiden who stars dreamily out across the water, just as her Danish countrymen have done for thousands of years. The Little Mermaid is just small enough and close enough to the water to be an excellent symbol of Copenhagen and Denmark. The sculpture stands 165 centimeters tall and weighs 175 kilograms. The original one, cast in bronze, was presented to the City of Copenhagen on August 23, 1913 by Carl Jacobsen. The Nationalmuseet (National Museum) is a mustsee for anyone who wants a comprehensive grounding in Danish history and culture. Tree to its name, it has the biggest collection of Danish historical artifacts in the country. On Sundays during summer the ambience is enhanced by free chamber music concerts. The Nationalmuseet has dibs on virtually every antiquity found on Danish soils, whether it was unearthed by a farmer ploughing his fields or a government-sponsored archaeological dig.

Today, people all over the world are moving out of small villages in the country to go and live in big, noisy cities. They are moving from the peaceful hills, mountains, fields, rivers and streams of the countryside to the busy world of streets, buildings, traffic and crowds. This movement from rural areas to urban areas has been going on for over two hundred years.
In many countries, the main reason why people come to live in towns and cities is work. After one or two large factories have been built in or near a town, people come to find work, and soon an industrial area begins to grow. There is usually a residential area nearby, where the factory workers can live. The families of these workers need schools, hospitals and shops, so more people come to live in the area to provide these services and a city grows.
In every major city in the world, there is a business district where the big companies have their main offices. In the United States, this area is usually in the city centre. It is here that you can see the huge skyscraper office blocks. The people who work here often travel a long way to work each day. Many of them live in the suburbs of the city, far away from the industrial area and the city centre. Some suburbs are very pleasant, with nice houses and big gardens. There are usually parks for children to play in and large department stores where you can buy all you need.
But what is the future of the big cities? Will they continue to get bigger? Perhaps not. Some major cities have actually become smaller in the last ten years, and it is quite possible that one day we will see people moving out of the major cities and back into smaller towns and villages.
In a residential area, you can see ____________.

A.rows of houses, schools and shops
    B.many offices and factories
C.a lot of factories and farms
D.many houses with offices and factories

    答案:A

Text 1 Denmark is once again distinguishing itself in the race against food waste-this time, with a supermarket hawking items once destined for the trash bin. Those items might include treats for a holiday that happened last week,a ripped box of comflakes, plain white rice mislabeled as basmati,or anything nearing its expiration date.In other words, perfectly edible items that are nonetheless considered unfit for salc by the retailers and manufacturers who donate them.WeFood is not the first grocer in Europe to sell surplus food. But unlike so-called"social supermarkets"-stores which serve almosL exclusively low-income people-WeFood's offerings are very intentionally aimed at the general public.High-income families will also choose WeFood for its environmental-friendly conception. The store's goods are priced 30 t0 50 percent lower than those in regular supermarkets, according to WeFood. The store has already been a huge success, attracting large numbers of customers.People have lined up before the store's opening every moming since its launch on Monday. But is this food safe to eat?Safety is always the first concern coming up to your mind.Well, the"sell by"date you see on many products actually refers to its freshness-not whether or not it's going to do you any harm.In many cases, food that's beyond this date won't be as fresh as it once was but is still perfectly edible. The food might have not yet gone bad when the"sell by"date expires.Of course you should still be careful to avoid eating food that's gone off,but you might find you don't have to throw away as much as you think you do.Denmark throws away about 700,000 tons of food every year, according to several estimates. In fact, food waste is a major problem for the whole world. Some 795 million people are undemourished globally, according to the World Food Program.Yet about a third of all food produced in the world-some l.3 billion tons-is wasted each year, according to the United Nations. The cost of global food wastage is about$1 trillion a year. All of the store's proceeds will go to DanChurchAid's work in developing nations like South Sudan and Bangladesh.
Which of the following would be the most appropriate title of the text?

    A.Save the Food,Save the World
B.A New Way to Save Food and Money in Denmark
C.A Denmark Market Selling Expired Food to Combat Waste Problems
D.People Line up for Expired Food in Denmark

Practice 5Directions: China is now experiencing the largest mass migration of people, an estimated 230 million (2010), from the countryside to cities in history. They’ve brought economy boom to cities and life improvement to their own families. However, this migration leaves land in the countryside uncultivated and children of migrant workers poorly educated. How do you think can the migration in China have a balanced development? For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

How to Balance the Mass Migration in China Nowadays, a new problem appears when the largest mass migration of people is ongoing in China. Though both the cities and the migrant workers can benefit from this movement, it still leaves some problems for the countryside.
To solve these problems, measures should be taken to seek for a balance. Firstly, the countryside needs to improve its environment of employment. Government should create more job opportunities. Better allowances and higher revenues for farmers will give them more hope in land cultivation.
Secondly, the cities can give aid to the countryside in technology and investments to make countryside more attractive for people in the cities. Besides, it will also improve the economy of the villages and be beneficial to the goal of common prosperity.
Lastly, education in the countryside needs to be improved. On the one hand, government can provide more access to regular education for children of migrant workers in the cities. On the other hand, schools in the countryside should arrange more teachers and better facilities to ensure proper education for village children.
In a word, both the cities and the countryside should make efforts to achieve the balance in the mass migration.
